PIAS Data processing

Plymouth Information Advice and Support for Send (PIAS) is an arm’s length service of Plymouth City Council. We are an impartial and confidential service to parents, carers, children and young people.

Processing information

During our work with you we will store information about you and your child on an electronic database. The database is owned by Plymouth City Council.

We may need to share information with and request information from others to carry out this work. This may include:

• Plymouth City Council teams (for example SEND teams)
• Single Multi Agency Panel
• Childs school/college
• CDC
• Social Care
• Health visiting teams

All information collected, shared is processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) under the lawful basis of Public Task.

All PIAS records remain confidential to PIAS team members and are double password protected. PIAS will not disclose this information except for the purpose of our work with you. The only exception to this is if there is a child or adult protection or public safety concern.

Other Plymouth City staff will be able to see that someone has been contacted by you about your child.
