This is Plymouth’s young carer offer for children and young people provided by Plymouth City Council, Barnardo’s and Hamoaze House.

Young Carers Book Collection

Plymouth Libraries have created a collection of books and helpful information to support young carers, with a range of books available suitable for children aged from three years.

Titles can be reserved to be collected from any of the Plymouth Libraries.

Caring for Carers: Improving Lives Plymouth

If you’re over 18 and look after a partner, family member, or friend with an illness or disability, you can ask for a carer’s assessment to look at how caring affects you and the sort of help you need.

Friends & Families of Special Children

Friends and Families provide emotional support and activities for young carers with the Fun and Freedom Club.

National Support

Sibs

This is a UK charity that offers support for brothers and sisters of disabled children and adults.

Young Sibs

This an online support and information service for children and young people aged 7-17 years old who have a brother or sister who is disabled, has special educational needs or a serious long-term condition.
